About

Our mission: make financial tracking private, simple, and borderless.

Global Wealth Portfolio was built because we believe your financial data belongs to you — not to a bank, a fintech startup, or an advertising platform. Every design decision we make starts from that conviction.

Why we built this

The existing tools for tracking personal finances fall into two camps: desktop software that is powerful but clunky, or cloud apps that are convenient but mine your data. Neither respects the fact that money is deeply personal. We wanted a third option — an app that is as polished as the best SaaS products but runs entirely on your own device.

We are a small, independent team passionate about privacy, good design, and building tools that genuinely improve people's financial lives. We do not take venture capital, we do not sell data, and we do not plan to. The app is and will remain free, open-source, and local-first.

What makes us different

Our values

Privacy first

We believe financial data is the most personal data you have. It should never be collected, analysed, or monetised by anyone but you.

Borderless by design

Your financial life spans currencies and countries. Your tracking tool should too — without charging you for currency conversion or region locking features.

Radical simplicity

Finance is complex enough. The tools you use should reduce complexity, not add to it. Every feature we build must justify its existence.

Built in the open

Open source means accountable. Anyone can audit our code, verify our privacy claims, and contribute. No black boxes, no opaque algorithms.

The team

Global Wealth Portfolio is maintained by a small team of engineers and designers who believe that great financial software does not need to compromise on privacy. We are distributed across time zones and currencies ourselves, so we eat our own dogfood every day.

Want to contribute? The project is open source on GitHub. Issues, pull requests, and feature suggestions are always welcome.
